Huge military plane spotted again powering through strong winds in Leeds skies

A massive military plane soared over houses in Leeds again today as part of an "essential training" exercise.

The noise of the C-17 Globemaster aircraft could be heard for miles as it flew over the city earlier today.

In the past it has been assumed that the plane has been flying to help deliver PPE and other essentials in the fight against coronavirus.

However, in a post on Facebook, RAF Brize Norton confirmed this is not the case.

It said: "This afternoon, our C-17 Globemaster aircraft will be operating in the vicinity of Leeds and Mildenhall, whilst engaged in essential training.

"These are necessary, routine, flights and not connected with RAF support to the UK's fight against Coronavirus."
