PATHUM THANI: A police border patrol drug suppression team found 656,000 methamphetamine pills while searching a house in Thanyaburi district on Sunday, according to media reports.
Pol Capt Somchai Khuatthong, the BPP team leader, said the search followed the arrests on April 27 of four suspects at a Tesco Lotus department store in tambon Khuan Lang of Songkhla's Hat Yai district. About 200,000 methamphetamine pills were found in two cars belonging to the four on Friday.
The four suspects were identified as Monchai Maneenop, 40; his wife Benjamaporn Limsuwan, 28; Punyanuch Boonchit, 33, a female Water Resource Department official in Surat Thani; and Samai Oonchai, 33.
Following an interrogation, Mr Monchai and Ms Benjamaporn took a BPP team to a house in Taradol Housing Estate in tambon Lam Phak Kut in Pathum Thani's Thanyaburi district.
The police found a total of 656,000 methamphetamine pills, in 2000-pill bundles, in a bedroom on the second floor of the house. Canisters of spray paint and a number of car licence plates were found on the ground floor.
The two admitted the drugs and other articles belonged to them, said Pol Capt Somchai.
