Huge marketplace with fashion, food and music coming to north Liverpool

A huge new independent market is coming to north Liverpool this month, with clothing and accessories stalls, live music and more.

The marketplace event will take place at Cherry Avenue restaurant, No.9 Bar & Kitchen. The event is the company's second, after a successful venture earlier this year.

The Walton based venue will welcome stall holders on Sunday, August 21 including Little Miss Boutique, Enchanted Souls, An Event to Remember, Boho Beach Bum and Pare De Bijoux. It will take place from 10am until 6pm.

There'll also be live music from local talent to entertain shoppers. The team at No.9 Bar & Kitchen are passionate about their local community and are keen to support local independent businesses.

All the independents in attendance are local to Anfield, Walton, Kirkdale and the surrounding areas. Gemma Bresnahan, co-owner of No. 9 Bar & Kitchen, said: "We are an independent that was set up just over three years ago.

"We pride ourselves on employing a local workforce and buying in our supplies locally, wherever possible. We have developed great relationships with local businesses, ranging from event planners to clothing stores. This has helped us to build up a real community feel, with each of us helping to push the other as well as supporting each other through tough business times.

"None more so than the last few years with the pandemic hitting us all. So we decided to set up a marketplace a few months ago and it was fantastic. It was a great way for our independent business friends to showcase what they are all about and we look forward to hosting the next one in a few weeks time.

"Myself and my husband Allan have grown up in this community. We have deep roots within this area. Supporting these local businesses is very important to us and giving them a location to all come together to engage with potential customers and showcase their fantastic products. Our aim for these days is exposure for everyone involved. Creating links between each business for potential further working relationships."

No 9 Bar & Kitchen picked up the 'Start Up Business of the Year Award 2022' at the Liverpool Echo Regional Business Awards 2022 on May 26 at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool. The business was started back in 2019 by husband and wife Gemma and Allan Bresnahan on Cherry Lane in north Liverpool.

The business was initially in one unit, before expanding over time. Now, it opens from breakfast through to 11pm and has become a real community hub in the North Liverpool area.

No. 9 Bar & Kitchen is open seven days a week from 9am until 10.30pm. Food is served from 9am to 8pm. You can find the venue at 1 Cherry Avenue, Liverpool, L4 6UY.
