Huge life-size whale sculpture made of thousands of tiny bricks coming to Knowsley Safari

A huge life-size orca whale sculpture made of thousands of tiny bricks is coming to Knowsley Safari this summer.

The sculpture is part of the BRICKLIVE OCEAN experience featuring 30 ocean-themed hand-built brick statues.

This is the first time this unique collection has been on tour since 2019 and the first time in the North West.

The experience showcases the vast array of creatures that the ocean is home to, including marine mammals, fish, sharks, crustaceans, coral and a host of other fascinating life-sized brick models of all shapes and sizes and took 215 days to build.

Families will love exploring this exhibition with highlights including an impressive orca, constructed from more than 220,000 bricks and measuring more than four metres long.

There is also the Yellowfin Tuna, a surprisingly large fish over one metre long which would only be visible in the waters of tropical and subtropical oceans and snapshots of intricately beautiful coral reef, comprising over 24,000 bricks.

You can also take some brilliant selfies in the head-in-the-hole selfie zone and with the sit-in submarine.

Taking up residence on the Foot Safari, the oceanic sculptures will join Knowsley Safari 's real animals including Amur Tigers, giraffes, meerkats, and bush dogs to create an unforgettable nature-filled day out.

Visitors can get up close to the models to appreciate both the sheer scale of the creatures and be afforded a glimpse of life on the seabed that would otherwise remain largely inaccessible.

Rachel Scott, head of marketing at Knowsley Safari said: "We are so excited to be able to host BRICKLIVE OCEAN this summer which is set to entertain and educate children and families about the incredible diversity of life in the Earth's oceans."

The event launches on Saturday, July 10 and will run until Sunday, September 5, guests must pre-book tickets and a time slot online at www.knowsleysafariexperience.co.uk.
