Huge knife and balaclava recovered after car fails to stop in Leeds

West Yorkshire Police officers in Leeds received a frightening reminder of the unknown dangers the police face on a daily basis after a vehicle failed to stop for the force late on Monday night.

After the vehicle had failed to stop, officers from the WYP Roads Policing Unit recovered a huge knife, balaclava and crowbar left behind by the suspects. They posted an image of the items on Twitter in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police said: "Vehicle fails to stop for us in Leeds. The occupants left their belongings behind. Our officers never know what danger they face on a daily basis."

West Yorkshire Police have been contacted for further comment on the circumstances of this case, and to confirm if the suspects have been located.
