Plumes of smoke were sent billowing across Merseyside after a fire broke out at an industrial estate.
Five fire engines were called to Holborn Square on Old Chester Road in Birkenhead, to reports of the blaze shortly after 6pm on Monday.
When fire crews arrived at the scene they found a large amount of rubbish up in flames around the industrial site and to the rear of a warehouse.
The blaze, which is believed to have been caused by "accidental ignition", soon spread to the warehouse.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue said the main body of the fire was extinguished by 7.30pm but crews remained on scene until around 10.30pm.
A spokesperson from the fire service said: "We were alerted at 6.06pm and were on scene at 6.15pm.
"We had five fire engines on scene."

On arrival, firefighters found "a large amount of rubbish" on fire "around the site and to the rear of a warehouse, which unfortunately did spread to a warehouse."
The fire service said "Firefighters fought the fire using a main ranch hose and hose reel.
"The main body of the fire was extinguished just before half past seven.
"Fire fighters were damping down and checking for fire spread in adjacent units."
At around 8.10pm the incident was scaled down and two fire engines remained at the scene.
Fire crews continued to damp down other rubbish at the site and checked for fire spread.
The incident was closed at 10.26pm on Monday.
The fire service said the cause of the fire is "believed to be accidental ignition."
