Huge gang of youths beat and rob man walking dog on Scots golf course

Cops have launched a probe after a man was attacked and robbed by a massive gang on a Scots golf course.

The 51-year-old has been walking his dog on Braehead Golf Course on Alloa at around 8pm on Saturday night.

When he arrived at the fifth tee he was hit by a barrage of abuse from around 15 youths.

Police said the thugs made 'verbal threats' before some of them attacked him and stole his wallet.

The man suffered head and back injuries in the shocking attack- needing treatment at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

His dog was not harmed.

Detective Sergeant Gillian Rennie said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a man out walking his dog and it is simply unacceptable.

"I know that not all the youths present took part in this attack, but I would ask them to consider if this was their father, brother or other relative, would you want people to say nothing.

I am urging anyone with information to contact us. Perhaps you have heard people talking about it, do you know any of the youths?  Any small piece of information could lead us to identifying those responsible for this attack.”

Anyone with information is asked to call CID officers at Stirling Police Station, quoting incident number 3645 of 26 September.  Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where your information can be given anonymously.
