Huge fire breaks out at Scots home in Fife

A huge fire ripped through a garage at the home of a family in Fife.

Fire crews raced to Duddingston Drive in Kirkcaldy after reports of a blaze at 11.18pm on Monday.

Terrifying footage shows the flames almost reaching the top floor windows near the house.

Two appliances worked to put out the blaze.

It is believed to have started after a tumble dryer inside the garage burst into flames.

Nobody was injured as a result of the huge inferno.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman told the Record: "We were alerted at 11.18pm on Monday, June 29 to reports of a garage on fire in Kirkcaldy.

"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the town's Duddingston Drive.

They added: "Firefighters extinguished the fire and worked to make the area safe."

"Crews thereafter left the scene.

"There were no casualties."
