Huge empty building is 'fantastic opportunity' for someone to transform

An empty building has gone on the market in Merseyside, that's described as a "fantastic" development opportunity.

The building, on Dacre Street, Birkenhead, lies in the regions regeneration area. Called Power House, it's being marketed as being perfect for conversion into apartments, offices or a business.

Being in the centre of the regeneration area it benefits from brilliant transport, being close to train and bus stations. The three storey building is listed for £240,000.

Birkenhead has been promised billions of pounds of investment in the past as part of a grand masterplan for the town. Wirral Council believes Birkenhead is on the cusp of great change though some in the town still have reservations about whether that will become reality.

The plans include transforming Woodside Ferry terminal, Hamilton Square, the town centre and its famous market. A new park will also be created along a disused train line and promises of more than 23,000 new homes.

The Karl Tatler listing reads: "Power House is a fantastic opportunity for a developer to convert this space into apartments within the regeneration area of Birkenhead and take part in the transformational plans that are in place. The space comprises three floors accumulating to 2700sq. ft and is a really unique opportunity.

"Equally, it is also a great chance for a business to set up their team in the heart of Birkenhead, in close proximity to train and bus stations, once it has been renovated to their needs."
