Huge emergency services response after man dies suddenly at home

The sudden death of a man in his 50s in Runcorn was not believed to be suspicious, police have said.

Emergency services were called to Pinners Fold in Norton at about 12.40pm on Sunday.

A Cheshire police spokeswoman said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

A resident who spoke to the ECHO said between eight and 10 emergency vehicles, mainly ambulances and fire engines, had pulled into the close and were there from “before lunchtime” until after 8pm..

A North West Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed that it responded to a call at 12.29pm and deployed two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, a helicopter and three members of the hazardous area response team (HART).

No-one was taken to hospital.

A Cheshire police spokeswoman said: “Officers were called at around 12.40pm on Sunday, November 15, following reports of a sudden death in Pinners Fold.

“A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.

“His death is not believed to be suspicious.
