Huge emergency service response after man stabbed at apartment block on outskirts of Manchester city centre

A man has been stabbed at an apartment block near Manchester city centre tonight (Tuesday).

Emergency services were called to Anaconda Cut on Greengate, near the banks of the River Irwell in Salford.

Police said they were called ust after 9.45pm following reports of a stabbing.

A man was stabbed. The severity of his injuries is not yet known.

Numerous paramedic vehicles were among those at the scene.

A man is being treated for knife injuries a police spokesman said (ASP)

Witnesses said around seven police vehicles were also there - that they saw a man being taken away by medics.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman did not say anyone had been arrested. The investigation continues.

Officers were seen inside the foyer of the building, appearing to be looking at CCTV cameras.
