Huge Edinburgh queues as locals flock to 'theme park' event at the Meadows

Massive queues of Edinburgh locals flocked to a theme park event at a public park on Sunday.

The Great American Theme Park took place last week, and over the weekend, at the Meadows and included fun fair classics such as waltzers, spinning tea cups, giant inflatables and hook a duck attractions.

However, due to the lack of age restrictions and free entertainment for youngsters, hundreds of excited families turned up to the event which caused large queues to take up much of the park.

In one image shared on Snapchat, young people and families can be seen patiently waiting in the queues.

One passerby said: "I've never seen such a big queue for anything, it was like being at a festival.

"I think everyone was just excited for a bit of normality."

The funfair, which took place from Friday September 10 until Sunday September 12, included free kids entertainment Saturday & Sunday, and rides for the older kids among us such as the Miami, Waltzers and much more rides for the little ones too.
