Huge disruption to London Euston train services after wire damaged

Passengers are being warned of huge disruption to train services between Manchester and London today due to a damaged overhead wire.

There will be a reduced service on trains heading to and from London Euston, according to National Rail.

Electric wires were damaged on Saturday at North Wembley junction.

Disruption is expected all day.

The Avanti West Coast service, which runs from Piccadilly to Euston, is expected to 'extremely busy'.

Trains may either be delayed or cancelled.

The incident happened on Saturday (London Euston)

Passengers should check before they travel.

Tickets can be used on Transpennine Express services to and from Leeds to Manchester and Liverpool to connect with with LNER services.

They can also be used on CrossCountry services between Birmingham New Street and Manchester Piccadilly.

Tickets can also be used on Northern services between Manchester Piccadilly and Stoke-On-Trent.

Customers with tickets for cancelled services can travel on the train immediately before or after their booked service.

Seat reservations will not be carried over.
