A giant Christmas decoration caused panic in The Galleries Shopping Centre when it fell three floors, narrowly missing shoppers.
One witness said it sounded like a "firework going off" inside the shopping centre when the huge candy cane fell to the ground.
A spokesman for The Galleries has told Bristol Live they are aware of the incident and stressed safety is "extremely important" to the team.
The incident happened at around 12.20pm on Tuesday, November 5.
Shopper James Williamson was on his lunch break at the time. He told Bristol Live he was gearing up to take a photo of the new decorations when it happened.
He said: "One of them fell down and missed someone sitting on the ground floor benches by a meter at most.
"(It) caused a bit of a minor panic, not just because of what happened, but because the sound of it hitting the floor from a three-floor drop sounded like a firework going off indoors.
"People were surprisingly calm about it - they mostly came to have a look, rather than thinking it to be a bomb and panicking.
"It landed straight down and fell to the right, so you can see just how close it came to the poor guy sitting there."

A spokesperson for The Galleries Shopping Centre said: "We're fully aware that an incident took place at the centre and was swifly dealt with by the on-site team.
"The safety of our shoppers is extremely important to us and this will continue to be our top priority."
