Huge cannabis farm uncovered in Oldham

A huge cannabis farm has been uncovered in Oldham.

Dozens of plants at various stages of maturity were seized in the raid.

Police have thanked the public after revealing 'shared intelligence' led to the discover.

Officers and forensic investigators swooped on what is believed to be a house on Huxley Street, which runs off Lees Road.

The Twitter account of GMP Oldham shared images of the seizure, made by officers from the Glodwick and St Mary's policing unit.

The photographs show dozens of plastic pots with cannabis plants in.

It's not known whether any arrests were made (GMP)

A rigged-up lighting system, irrigation and a fan can also be seen.

The windows of the property were sealed with tape.

It's not known whether any arrests were made and the exact amount and street value of the cannabis seized has not been revealed.

Writing on Twitter, Greater Manchester Police Oldham urged anyone with information about cannabis cultivation to come forward.

It's understood the raid happened on Monday.

The officers posted: "Cannabis farm located at Huxley Street in Oldham.

"A big thank you to the public who shared intelligence.

"Glodwick and St Mary's Policing team acted promptly.

"Please ring 101 and report any suspicious circumstances."
