Huge cannabis farm discovered in building on Bury New Road

More than 1,500 cannabis plants have been found at a property in Prestwich.

Multiple rooms were being used to grow the plants, according to Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

In total, there were 630 mature plants seized from the building in Bury New Road, along with 900 saplings.

A spokesman for the Bury South division of GMP said: "Approximately 630 mature cannabis plants were uncovered by officers at a property on Bury New Road, Prestwich earlier on today (18/01/2022).

"An initial search of the building uncovered multiple rooms were being used for the production of the plants and an additional 900 saplings were discovered for potential future growth.

"Investigations are ongoing."
