Huge cabaret tent - hosting live music and free children's workshops - returns to Nottingham for more than two weeks this spring

Roll up! Roll up! The Magnificent Spiegeltent will soon be pitching up in Old Market Square for two and half weeks of cabaret fun, free children's activities and circus shenanigans

The Salon Perdu - a beautiful, century-old travelling dance hall, made of wood and decorated with drapes, fabric and mirrors - will land in the heart of Nottingham city centre from April 29 to May 17.

Organised by Nottingham BID in partnership with the city council, the programme of events has yet to be confirmed but last year included an extensive line-up of music, theatre, variety, and even a mass sing-along.

It'll be the fifth time the Spiegeltent - a named which literally translates as ‘mirror tent’ - has taken over Slab Square.

Built in Belgium in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the cabaret pop-up now regularly tours the world’s cities and festivals, showcasing bohemian entertainment.

2019's programme featured big names such as Milton Jones and CBeebies' Andy and the Odd Socks  as well as Edinburgh Festival Fringe favourites and heaps of home-grown talent.
