Huge boost for Leeds United fans heading to Sheffield Wednesday clash

Leeds United supporters travelling to Elland Road this Saturday will be able to get a bus directly to the stadium for less than £1 per person.

The Whites are top of the Championship heading into the Yorkshire derby with Sheffield Wednesday and could go three points clear of second-placed West Brom if results go their way.

Marcelo Bielsa's side last played at Elland Road on Boxing Day, with the 3pm kickoff representing the first home game in four matchdays, and more than 35,000 fans are expected.

The club are trialling a new shuttle bus service for the Wednesday match from the Temple Green Park & Ride station, which is located near to Junction 45 of the M1.

It's all part of a long-term strategy to ease congestion around Elland Road.

How to get shuttle bus tickets to Elland Road

As part of the trial, tickets will cost just £3 per car. It means a car of five supporters can travel to Elland Road for just 60p per person on Saturday, January 11.

Tickets must be bought online from this website beforehand.

The first three shuttle buses will leave at 12pm, 12.30pm and 1pm. The buses will then leave one after another as soon as they are full, with the last bus leaving at 2.30pm.

After the match, the shuttle buses will depart Elland Road once they are full. Supporters should follow the TG1 signs to the bottom of Lowfields Road.

The buses will be given priority access away from the stadium to beat the traffic.
