Huge boost for Hibs as Martin Boyle agrees to extend Easter Road stay with bumper new contract

Hibs have been handed a huge boost after Martin Boyle committed his future to the club.

The 27-year-old will sign a new contract which keeps him at Easter Road until the summer of 2023, according to the Daily Record.

Boyle is in the last year of his current deal but is expected to sign on the dotted line later this week.

The Australian international netted twice in the victory over Kilmarnock on the opening day of the season, and has been a key man for the Easter Road club in recent seasons.

He's been linked with a move to the English Championship this summer but appears to be content in Leith.

Jack Ross confirmed earlier this month that the club were in talks with a new deal for Boyle.

He said: "At the moment we are in discussions with  Martin  and his representatives about trying to put something in front of him that would enable him to stay at the club.

“So it’s good we are in the process of doing that, how it will unfold I obviously couldn’t say.

“But I think it’s important we do our best to offer him the best possible deal we can. The advantage we have is he very much enjoys it here, that’s a good starting point."
