Huge blaze breaks out at disused hotel in Ayr

Firefighters are tackling a huge blaze at a disused hotel in Ayr this morning.

Crews from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to Miller Road in the town just after 3.30am to reports of a well-developed blaze.

Five appliances remain on the scene in the Ayrshire town this morning.

The road has been closed in both directions to allow fire crews to deal with the inferno.

No one was injured as a result of the fire.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "We were called to Miller Road at 3.32am to reports of a fire at a disused building.

"Four appliances and one aerial appliance are still on the scene this morning."
