More than 600 cannabis plants with a potential yield of up to £600,000 were discovered in a Nottingham property.
Officers carrying out enquiries relating to cannabis production were led to the house in Newlyn Drive, Whitemoor, near Aspley.
After gaining entry they found more than 600 cannabis plants across two ground floor rooms, four upstairs bedrooms and the loft, along with growing equipment.
Police drugs experts estimated the potential yield from the plants as being up to £600,000.
Two men who had been living at the property have now been jailed for a combined total of five years and 11 months at Nottingham Crown Court.
Dervish Tobli, 29, was jailed for three years and one month after he pleaded guilty to production of a class B drug.
Gramoz Pepkolaj, 30, was imprisoned for two years and ten months after he admitted the same charge.
Police arrested the men after raiding the house on June 16 last year.
Their knock on the door went unanswered so officers began to gain entry by force. A man then opened the door and officers began a room by room search.
The officers said they could smell cannabis emanating from the address and also heard noises coming from fans.
Tobli and Pepkolaj were inside the property as the search was carried out and were both arrested.
During their police interviews, both men claimed they were tending to the grow to pay off a £10,000 debt.
Inspector Gordon Fenwick, of the City West Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "Nottinghamshire Police is committed to the disruption of drug supply and prosecuting those responsible.
"Tobli and Pepkolaj were involved in a well-established operation and have now been taken off the streets and locked up for their crimes.
"We will continue our proactive work in this area and hope that the level of sentence received by Tobli and Pepkolaj sends a strong message to those involved in drug-related activity in Nottingham."
