Huge £20k cannabis and cash haul seized as man charged over Scots property raid

A man has been charged after £20,000 of cannabis and cash were seized by cops during a raid at a property in a Scots village.

The 27-year-old was arrested in connection the find at a property Mossgiel Way, Newarthill, Lanarkshire on Thursday.

Officers discovered around £18,000 worth of the class-B drug as well as £4,000 in cash .

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A 27-year-old man was arrested and has been charged in connection with the recovery.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

"Enquiries remain ongoing and anyone with information or concerns about drugs in their community can contact Police Scotland via 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
