Huddersfield: Two dead after suspected arson attack at house

Two people have died and four others were taken to hospital following a suspected arson attack in Huddersfield.

Samantha Mills, 31, died in hospital on Friday, and Reece Schofield, 24, was pronounced dead on Monday after being rescued from the fire at the property on Clare Hill last Tuesday.

According to West Yorkshire Police, Craig Collier, 34, of Clare Hill, has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life following the blaze.

Mr Collier was also charged with perverting the course of justice and has been remanded in custody awaiting a further hearing at Leeds Crown Court.

Mills and Schofield were among six people taken to hospital, where one person now remains in a stable condition, in the wake of the fire around 6am on Tuesday 23 March.
