Huddersfield Town sweating on injury doubt ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Huddersfield Town have an injury doubt over striker Yaya Sanogo ahead of their trip to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Terriers have gone five games without a win as they prepare to take on the Reds, having lost 2-1 at home to Bournemouth on Tuesday night.

While Chris Hughton’s side are unbeaten in four and have climbed to 15th place, 10 points clear of the relegation zone, their weekend opponents are in 19th spot, five points above the bottom three.

Front man Sanogo, who was recruited in January, missed Huddersfield’s match against the Cherries after lacerating his foot in training.

And manager Carlos Corberan is unsure whether he will also be absent at the City Ground - with the fixture moved to a 12.30pm kick-off to avoid coinciding with Prince Philip’s funeral.

"We don't know,” Corberan told YorkshireLive, when asked if Sanogo was ruled out for the weekend.

"Yaya cut his foot and couldn't work yesterday. We need to see how he progresses and we hope he can be ready to help the team.

"But it's an injury where we need to see how he reacts."

Defender Pipa dropped to the bench for Huddersfield’s midweek loss, and Corberan added: "We didn't have Pipa from the start because he didn't feel well enough to start.

"He was on the bench just in an emergency case, in case we needed to use him.

"But the medical advice was to try to avoid any minutes of him on the pitch, which is what we did."
