Huddersfield Town injury and squad news revealed ahead of derby with Leeds United

Huddersfield Town, Leeds United's opponents on Saturday, are set to be without one of their key midfielders for the Elland Road trip.

Town boss Danny Cowley has issued an injury update on Jonathan Hogg.

The 31-year-old enforcer was taken off after 33 minutes of the 2-1 home victory against Bristol City suffering a knee injury.

It was later revealed it was ligament damage and the man who has made 30 appearances this season in Championship and FA Cup was not fit enough to be included in the matchday 18 for the 4-0 John Smith's Stadium win over Charlton Athletic.

Cowley revealed after that game that Hogg was wearing a brace to support the damaged joint and would be sent for a specialist examination.

"Tomorrow is too soon for Hoggy," Cowley told our colleagues at Examiner Live .

"He has ligament injury on outside of his knee.

"We were worried initially, but we now know it’s improved a lot in the 10 days since he did it and hopefully he won’t be too long.

"You always miss a player like Hoggy. He is a warrior, a fighter and carries the DNA of the club in his blood."

The manager says the only other player not available at Elland Road is Tommy Elphick (knee surgery).

Midfielder Andy King (hamstring) could make the squad after missing the Charlton win.
