
The Football Association has charged Huddersfield Town with misconduct after their pre-season shirt sponsor stunt.
The club were pilloried after the unveiling of a new home kit featuring a large sash logo of controversial bookmaker Paddy Power in July.
They wore the shirt in a friendly against Rochdale on 17 July, with the logo appearing to exceed the Football Association’s guidelines of 250 square centimetres.
“Huddersfield Town FC has been charged with misconduct in relation to The FA’s Kit and Advertising Regulations,” a statement read.
“It is alleged that playing kit worn by its first team during a pre-season friendly against Rochdale AFC on 17 July 2019 was in breach of FA Regulation C.2(i). The club has until 16 August 2019 to provide a response.”

The bookie later revealed that the Terriers’ kit for this season would not feature their logo as part of their ‘Save Our Shirt’ campaign.
Paddy Power have agreed similar deals to ‘unsponsor’ the shirts of Newport County, Motherwell, Macclesfield Town and Southend United.
