Huda firms up plans to acquire land for Gurgaon roads

Residents from Sector 75 to 80 can now hope to commute smoothly as the Haryana urban development authority (Huda) in Gurgaon has firmed up plans to acquire around 300 acres of land needed to build crucial master roads in these areas.

The urban authority has also requested the state government to provide Rs. 2,546 crore to pay land owners. The final award for land will be announced by the end of July.

A market price fixation committee that met under the chairmanship of administrator Yashpal Yadav has fixed the acquisition rate of land in Naurangpur (102 acres) at Rs. 3.20 crore per acre, Shikohpur (108 acres) at Rs 4.64 crore per acre, Kherki Daula (86 acres) at Rs. 2.70 crore per acre, and Begumpur Khatola (4.68 acres) at Rs 3.26 crore per acre.

Huda officials said that land for the roads is being acquired on a priority basis, which will facilitate the construction of roads that are crucial to urbanise these sectors. Lack of sector roads is one of the major problems being faced in new sectors being developed by private builders in Gurgaon.
