April 08--Hubbard Street Dance Chicago announced its 2015-16 season on Wednesday. Alongside its three seasonal series, the roster includes the return of last year's "The Art of Falling."
First, the Fall Series (Oct. 15-18) will celebrate the work of a single choreographer, William Forsythe, by including his works "N.N.N.N." and "One Flat Thing, reproduced" and "Quintett."
Then, the Winter Series begins with the U.S. premiere of "Solo Echo" (Dec. 10-13) by Crystal Pite and "Waxing Moon" by Robyn Mineko Williams. This series will also include two world premieres: an original work by Penny Saunders and a new work by choreographer Yin Yue.
Next, the Spring Series (March 17-20) will include a new work from Lucas Crandall, the return of "The Impossible" by Alejandro Cerrudo and "I am Mister B" by Gustavo Ramirez Sansano. More works will be announced at a later date.
And "The Art of Falling," the company's collaboration with the Second City that premiered last year to great critical acclaim, will return for a slightly longer engagement this season, playing June 9-12, 2016.
All four engagements will be performed at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park, 205 E. Randolph St. Single tickets go on sale in August.
