Hub Box opens its first burger restaurant in Wales

Hub Box has come to Wales and taken up residence in a popular spot in Cardiff Bay.

Located on the waterfront at Mermaid Quay, where Starbucks and Ed's Easy Diner were once based, Hub Box brings a menu with something for everyone - meat eater, vegan, veggie or gluten free. Their burgers being their calling card, of course.

Made with meat supplied by farms along the Cornwall and Devon border, the burgers use select cuts of rare, 21-day, dry-aged beef and are served on a Tom's bun.

They also serve breakfast, too.

Hub Box are also working with local Tiny Rebel Brewery, offering a revolving range of IPAs and NEIPAs, stocking stout and lager. For non-drinkers they also have their own brand of coolers and non-alcoholic draft, Clwb Tropica.

Hub Box CEO, Richard Boon, said "Welsh roots run deep here at Hub Box - with my wife, Amy, growing up in Cwmbran. Ever since my first visit to Cardiff Bay, I knew that the waterfront location – which is basically in our DNA – would suit us perfectly.

"We're looking forward to welcoming Welsh customers old and new, with many of you knowing us from holidaying down in Cornwall!"

Hub Box is the latest new addition to Mermaid Quay. Everyman Cinema opened in January and the city's second Cosy Club has set up shop on the waterfront, too. The area has been undergoing improvement works since 2018 during which redecoration and a change of layout to the dockside area has been taking place.
