HSE guide to shopping safely in Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Supervalu and more as cases rise again

With cases beginning to rise all over the country again the HSE has reminded people about shopping safely.

After a further 430 cases were confirmed across the country on Sunday the HSE tweeted the latest advice for when you're doing the groceries.

They said: "When shopping, the main risk is coming into contact with an infected person. 

"By law, you have to wear a face covering when shopping, as it can be difficult to practice social distancing in a shop.⁣"

The WHO has long said that there is little chance of picking up Covid-19 when at the shops but normal precautions apply.

Here is the main advice when heading to Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, Supervalu, Dunnes or your shop of choice;

  • wear a face covering- this is the law in shops and shopping centres
  • follow good hygiene practices
  • practice social distancing
  • minimise contact with people outside of your household
