HRVY announces social media break with cryptic Instagram message after Strictly loss

HRVY has told his loyal fans that he is taking a break from social media.

The social media-savvy singer, 21, who rose to fame on YouTube, revealed the surprise news on Instagram on Sunday with a short message uploaded onto his Instagram Stories.

Giving little away, he typed: "Thinking of you all. Just taking some time away from my phone."

The influencer continued: "Be back soon. Can't wait to be back making music."

Last weekend, HRVY - real name Harvey Leigh Cantwell - lost out on winning Strictly Come Dancing 2020.

The first prize in the dancing competition was handed to Bill Bailey and his pro dance partner Oti Mabuse.

They beat HRVY and Janette Manrara, Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer, and Maisie Smith and Gorka Marquez to win the Glitterball.

HRVY's love life dominated headlines during his Strictly stint as rumours swirled that he and EastEnders' Maisie were bonding behind-the-scenes.

“While, technically, they may not have been practising social distancing, they are both young and this was before Tier 4 restrictions came into play. But even now, in Tier 4, Maisie can have HRVY as her support bubble.”

It's claimed they have grown so close and text each other every day with plans to meet up with Covid-19 restrictions permit it.
