Arguably, one of the biggest deciding factors in accepting a new job is the proposed salary. Many may argue that it's essential that you negotiate your wage - whie others may feel nervous or possibly cautious to do so.
Sharing her advice after being an expert in the field, an ex-HR advisor who worked in corporate finance has shared the essential things she'll never do after working on the job. From refusing to work overtime to negotiating salary, she has raked in a whopping following on TikTok for her expert advice, which she has shared in a series of videos.

TikTok account @whatmatterscic has raked in over 3,000 followers to date for her expertise in the field - alongside her top tips and hacks for whilst you're working.
The accounts even vows to help viewers as "a social enterprise helping you thrive".
In a recent video, the woman shared the "five things that [she'll] never do at a job after working as a HR advisor in corporate finance".
One particular bit of expert advice - negotiating the salary - kicked up a fuss amongst viewers who said they feel "dumb" doing such a thing.


"I would never accept the initial salary offer that I'm given - always negotiate," she said.
"A lot of your colleagues and peers are getting fantastic packages and not because they're doing anything dissimilar to you.
"It's just because they're being bold and asking what they believe they deserve or just what they want.
Whilst the tip seemed fairly straightforward, fellow TikTokers took to the comment section to share their concerns about the bold move.
Some online users even describe how they got "rejected" for taking the brave step after they requested higher pay.
"I’m scared to ask for more what if they say no and I’ll look dumb," one user wrote.
Another added: "I got rejected because I tried to salary negotiate," beside a crying emoji.
A third penned: "Negotiating is the risky one, but everything else is awesome."
"Six weeks in to my new job and found out the salary banding was a lot more and I accepted the first offer," a fourth commented.
