HoYoverse teases Genshin Impact 4.1 characters

Fontaine and the 4.0 update are just around the corner, and HoYoverse already teased who’s up next in the Genshin Impact 4.1 banners. Revealing tidbits about the next update’s banner stars is something of a tradition at this point, and HoYoverse does the same with Honkai Star Rail as well.

First up is Wriothesley, a duke who calls the Fortress of Meropide home, a phrase which will undoubtedly mean more when we actually set foot in Fontaine and get a glimpse of its social and political landscape. Wriothesley surprises those around him with his worldly outlook, and the new art HoYoverse shared shows him sporting a different look compared to his debut in an older Fontaine trailer

Wriothesley has a Cryo vision and is rumored to use a catalyst, which would make him the first Cryo catalyst user in the game.

Next up is Neuvillette, a rather more enigmatic character. He gets no lengthy introduction, and much of his character sheet is filled with question marks. The only shred of character information is this mysterious quote: “Someday, when they return, their true ordeal shall begin.”

What that means is anyone’s guess, though it’s probably tied to the dark prophecy looming over Fontaine. Neuvillette uses Hydro, though it’s not clear yet what weapon he uses.

Genshin Impact 4.1 will go live around Sep. 27, 2023, but meanwhile, we’ve got Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet to look forward to in the Genshin Impact 4.0 banners, along with a Yelan rerun.
