Howth Coast Guard warn motorists to use extra caution on Dublin beaches as 4x4 gets stuck

Drivers using Dublin's beaches have been warned to be extra careful when parking or driving near the sea.

The warning comes as Howth Coast Guard responded to their eighth call-out this week when a 4x4 got stuck.

They were called to assist at Dollymount beach at night time and reminded the public that even the biggest vehicles can get into bother.

Sharing some footage of the rescue,  they can be seen using one of their own 4x4 vehicles to pull the member of the public out of the sand.

They said: "Howth Coast Guard responded to our 8th callout this week when a vehicle got stuck in the sand below the water line on Dollymount beach.

"Be careful driving on to beaches, even 4x4’s can become stuck."
