Nick Foles to become free agent after Eagles decide not to use Franchise Tag

The Nick Foles era in Philadelphia is officially set to come to an end after general manager Howie Roseman confirmed to the media at the NFL Combine that the team will not use the franchise tag on him.

As a result, Foles will become a free agent when the new league year begins on March 13.

Roseman said that Foles “deserves an opportunity to lead a team” and we’ll get to see what type of market the Super Bowl MVP has now that interested franchises won’t have to make a trade with the Eagles to acquire him. As of now, it looks like Jacksonville, Washington and Miami are Foles best bets after the Giants’ Pat Shurmur and Raiders GM Mike Mayock gave their quarterbacks a vote of confidence on Wednesday during their combine press conferences.
