Howie Mandel apologised to Kelly Ripa after the America’s Got Talent Judge became annoyed over a comment regarding his age.
Appearing on Live with Kelly and Mark, Ripa, alongside co-host and husband Mark Consuelos, congratulated Mandel on his recent 70th birthday and told him he “looked great”.
“I don’t like that because that’s a caveat,” he said, explaining he found the compliment insulting.
Posting on Instagram on Saturday (28 March), the 70-year-old issued an apology to Ripa: “You’re absolutely right, and I’m sorry I didn’t see it that way.”
“After a lot of thought and self-reflection, I look great for my age,” he said, explaining that the original comment was intended as a joke.
