Howard's waylaid

Having blogged Jeremy Paxman's Newsnight demolition of Michael Howard as long ago as Tuesday, I was surprised to find it took Central Office until now to file a complaint to the BBC - as reported by MediaGuardian.co.uk.

We look forward to seeing how a post-Hutton report BBC stands up for itself in the face of allegations of biased journalism regarding Paxman's coverage of the Tory trip to Cornwall. So far they're backing Paxman: Newsnight editor Peter Barron insisted on the programme's website that the report "was a fair and accurate reflection of what he found, and was certainly not staged".
