Howard Donald calls for teachers to be paid more after 'ripping his hair out' while home schooling

Take That's Howard Donald has called for teachers to be 'paid more' in a candid post about home schooling.

Howard, 52, joked that he now has bald patches after he 'ripped his hair out.'

The Never Forget singer was upfront about the issue of home schooling on Twitter while teaching his sons Bowie, five, and Dougie Bear, four.

The star, from Higher Openshaw, said he 'doesn't have the patience.'

"Teachers should be paid more because I certainly don’t have the patience to home school!" he said honestly.

"I do it because I have to but now I have bald patches where I’ve ripped my hair out!"

Howard, who shot to fame with the Manchester boyband Take That in 1992, added: "Feel for the kids. Think it’s debatable but 4+5 year olds learning maths and English is too early in life."

And he received a flood of sympathetic comments and tweets from followers agreeing with him.

"Trying to home school three children at three different ages plus working different shift patterns in a care home is starting to take its toll," said one.

"I take my hat off to all the teachers out there they do a brilliant job."

"Spoke to a teacher today who said 'just enjoy the time with your children, because you'll never get this time back, don't force them, just enjoy them' 100% agree with her," another told him.

"I feel your pain. Teaching my four-year-old is like pulling teeth," said another.

"Same. My youngest has pretty bad ADHD and I'm often lost," another confided.

"It's a very rewarding job though for the little we get paid," a teacher told him.

Howard has two sons with his illustrator wife Katie Halil.

He also has two daughters from previous relationships, Grace and Lola.
