How your Leeds MP voted today over bill to block no-deal Brexit

MPs have won the first vote on a bill - proposed by Leeds MP Hilary Benn - to delay Brexit.

Members voted by 329 to 300 in favour - which will block PM Boris Johnson's plan for a no-deal Brexit.

If the bill survives further Commons votes it will force PM Boris Johnson to seek an extension to the October 31 Brexit deadline if a deal is not agreed with the EU.

The PM will look to call a general election if the bill is successful.

The move comes after Tory rebels and Opposition MPs and won a vote on Tuesday allowing them to take control of Parliament and set out their bill.
