How you could get a six bedroom house for as little as £150k in Greater Manchester

As house prices in Greater Manchester continue to climb ever-higher, there is a way to get your foot on the property ladder for less.

There are currently several properties in the region that are waiting to be sold via auction, with prices a fraction of the local average.

Take, for example, this end-of-terrace two bedroom property in Fallowfield.

Although it may need substantial renovations (as in, the ceiling seems to have fallen down a bit), the home is a fraction of the price of similar properties on the same strip, with a guide price of £50,000.

A similar home on neighbouring Alexandra Avenue sold back in July for £141,500 - almost three times the price of the home on Regent Avenue.

That would leave potential buyers with a decent chunk of money with which to transform the property and sell for - hopefully - a significant profit.

There's also, according to the listing, the chance to convert the loft or add a rear extension, with the proper planning permission.

The property will be sold via auction on Thursday November 14 at the Bolton Wanderers Football Stadium, starting at 2pm.

Another auction property currently on the market is a six-bedroom end of terrace house in Bolton, which has a guide price of £150,000.

Licensed as an HMO (house in multiple occupation), the property apparently has the potential to bring in around £32,000 per year in lettings income.

It's modern enough inside with a contemporary communal kitchen and several bathrooms, while two of the six bedrooms have their own en suite and kitchenette.

As this home is currently partially-let, interested buyers will need to check the full tenancy schedule in the legal pack.

The Westhoughton house will be at auction on Tuesday December 17 from 2pm.

At the top end of the auction scale is an enormous six bedroom semi-detached house in Salford, sprawling over four floors.

Located in Broughton Park, the house is currently operating as a multiple-occupancy property producing £33,240 per year - though there's clear potential to convert it back to one grand home.

For comparison, a similar house on the same street sold for £535,000 back in May - the house up for auction has a guide price of £387,500.

That's a potential saving of £147,500.

Based on the pictures, the home is in excellent nick, with period features such as fireplaces and bay windows.

This one will be going under the hammer from 2pm on Thursday November 14 at Bolton Wanderers Football Stadium.

All of the above houses are being sold by Auction House North West.
