How you could get a job as an on-call firefighter in Nottinghamshire

A recruitment drive has been launched by Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue as they look to find new on-call firefighters.

On-call firefighters respond to emergencies and help out at community events when full-time firefighters aren't available.

The advert for Nottinghamshire advises that you could attend two or three emergency call outs every week.

Full training will be given so previous experience isn't necessary.

On-call firefighters are being recruited to cover weekends, weekdays and nights.

In Bingham, Collingham, Misterton, Retford, Southwell and Tuxford the fire service is looking for people available between 8am-6pm.

Applications are also being considered for Ashfield, Blidworth, Eastwood, East Leake, and Hucknall.

Station manager Simon Glew said: "On-call firefighters are an essential part of our service and community.

"If you are passionate about working within the local community and eager to make Nottinghamshire safer this is the role for you.

“We are extremely keen to encourage anyone who has what it takes, to find out more about becoming an on-call firefighter."
