A Portugese beauty spot is rolling out the barrel for tourists looking for a corking experience.

Holidaymakers keen to experience the boudoir of the grape amid the wonderful scenery of one of the most ancient wine regions in the world, can now stay in a giant converted barrel.

People wanting to combine a taste for the finest wines with wonderful Portuguese scenery may be able to find the perfect combination at this rustic hideaway.

Each barrel features high-end amenities (Quinta de Pacheca/Instagram)

The Quina da Pachecha estate in the famous Douro region of Portugal is offering the magnificent mix, which is sure to be a winner for those seeking something a little different.

Each 30-metre suite is a giant replica of the barrels used in the 280-year-old estate, made from pine wood and designed by property owners Paulo Pereira and Maria do Céu Gonçalves.

The unique hotel rooms are situated close to the vineyard, it's as simple as a walk out of the barrel door and into the grounds, Edinburgh Live reports.

Each barrel features high-end amenities like a private bathroom with modern fixtures, a walk-in shower, a large round bed and skylight, a private terrace, Wi-Fi and air conditioning.

The vineyard’s bottles are stored in a nearby 18th century house, with red, white and rosé, as well as traditional varieties of the finest port available.
