It's that time of year again; the sun is trying force itself from behind the clouds and winter is now a distant memory.
And more importantly the summer rates have been announced for those who want to rent the beach huts at Barry Island .
The colourful beach huts, which sit either side of the climbing wall on the eastern promenade, provide users with a base, a place to change and somewhere to store possessions - all while offering stretching views across Whitmore Bay.
There are 24 huts in total, with 12 on each side of the climbing wall, with small huts measuring 2.5m x 1.8m and large huts measuring 2.4m x 2.5m.
The small huts have electricity sockets inside them while the large ones also have access to running water.
How much does it cost?
The beach huts are open for the spring/summer season from 10am - 8pm, between April and October.
And this is when the cost of renting a hut will go up.
From April, a small hut costs £18 for a full day or £10.50 for a half day (2pm-8pm), while a large hut costs £31 for a full day or £15.50 for a half day.
These prices vary in the winter months, between November and March, when prices cost £5.50 for a small hut or £10.50 for a large one.
