How you can make your own Quality Street mix at the Trafford Centre

It's not Christmas without a tin of Quality Streets, but you have to admit everyone has their favourites.

Whether it's the Orange Cremes or the Coconut Eclairs that are usually left languishing in the bottom of your tub, every household has its typical leftovers.

But there is a way to avoid that - with the Quality Street pick and mix at John Lewis stores.

Customers can choose exactly what they want in their own tin and even have it personalised with a name too - so whether it's Joanne Street, or Nanna Street, you can pick whatever name you like, up to around nine characters, to get lasered onto the tin.

Not only that, but John Lewis, which has the pick and mix stations in its Trafford Centre and Cheadle stores each Christmas, has an exclusive chocolate too - the Crème Caramel Crisp.

And if you sample one of these before making your selection, it's probably going to feature quite highly on your list of must-haves.

Customers tick off the chocolates they want on a form and if you're a John Lewis member - you can join for free - you can fill your tub with just the one chocolate if you want.

A collector's edition tin containing your selection will set you back £12, while the personalised tin is £15.

You're getting a lot of chocolate for your money though. The hefty tins weigh 1.2kg, almost double the 650g plastic tubs for sale in most supermarkets.

And you can reuse your personalised tin in future years if you want too - for £10.

The Trafford Centre branch's lettering machine had just ran out of characters when we arrived on Friday and they were all out of Green Triangles too. They're hoping to get both in before Christmas if you're looking to get someone their chocolate fix this festive season.
