Half a dozen public consultation events have been arranged inviting discussion on a £4 million plan to transform Arnold Market.
The market is set to benefit from the "biggest investment it has ever received", with a multi-million-pound project in the pipeline to attract independent businesses and create an impressive gateway into the town.
Residents will be asked for their say on how to shape the future of the town during the consultation, launched by Gedling Borough Council.
The proposals involve constructing a two-storey building, providing seven units for independent businesses with additional space above.
A new public area is also planned, designed to become a focal point for the market, with the authority keen to increase visitors to the town and support businesses.
Six consultation events have been arranged where people can find out more information and view the plans.
The first is taking place on Friday, February 28, from 10am to 2pm at Arnold Market Place, Front Street, with another consultation there the following Tuesday, March 3, during the same time.
On Friday, March 6, another event is planned at Arnold Library, Front Street, between 10am to 2pm, with a consultation at Bonington Theatre on March 10, between 4pm and 7pm.
Another is planned at the Market Place on March 14, between 9am and 12.30pm, with a sixth event at the library on March 20, between 10am and 2pm.
Local stallholders and businesses are invited to attend.
The new building is planned between the existing Methodist Church and King George V Park.
The scheme is expected to create around 40 new jobs, through business employment and the construction phase.

"Took nearly two years to start a consultation, so not expecting much progress in my lifetime," wrote another.
"We can’t fill the shops we have now," wrote a third.
Up to £4m has been allocated for the scheme.
Funding for the project will come from the council’s capital programme budget, boosted by a successful bid for £1.25m from the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership.
Leader of the authority, Labour Councillor John Clarke, said: “We are very excited to share these ambitious ideas for Arnold Market Place.
"The market and the town centre will benefit from the biggest investment it has ever received and we want residents and businesses to be involved from the outset, which is why we have opened this consultation period."
