How you can get a great deal on Alton Towers tickets as the summer holidays get underway

As the summer holidays are upon us, you might be trying to find things to do with the family.

The long break means that you might be trying to save some money in order to make sure it lasts.

Visiting theme parks isn't cheap and families will have to pay a significant amount to enter Alton Towers.

The park boasts a host of white-knuckle rides, a water park, Cbeebies Land for younger visitors and themed hotels. New attractions include the Wicker Man ride based on the cult film, a Peter Rabbit-themed ride for smaller children and the scary Alton Towers Dungeon experience.

Tickets for a one-day pass are priced at £34 when booked in advance online or £58 per person on the door. Annual passes start from £139.

However, a new deal means visitors can buy a season pass giving entry into Alton Towers as many times as you wish between now and 3 November for just £50.

The deal has been launched by Wowcher  and cuts £6 off the price of the season pass on the official Alton Towers website. The pass gives users access to the theme park on weekdays only and does not include the dungeon.

Wowcher also has a Premium Pass for £65  - £5 less than the official site - that does include weekend entry and the Alton Towers Dungeon.

Other deals websites including Attraction Tickets Direct  and 365Tickets  are selling standard day passes for £33, which is a £1 saving on the official site.
