How you can get a free pint of beer or a coffee just for taking the bus in Leeds

Bus passengers can get free drinks across Leeds and West Yorkshire, thanks to a new partnership with two renowned brands.

People who purchase First Bus Leeds’ First Summer Day ticket to travel on Friday evenings, all weekend and Bank Holidays will be able to claim the free drinks from North Brewing Co and The 200 Degrees Coffee shop in the city centre.

All customers must do is show the First Bus Ticket that lets you enjoy unlimited travel across West Yorkshire, to get the hot drink or pint at North Brewing Co, Leeds City Tap in Sovereign Square and The 200 Degrees Coffee shop in Bond Street.

North Brewing Co will be offering Sputnik Pale Ale or Pils lager at these and other bars in West Yorkshire.

Ross Johnstone, Commercial Development Manager for First West Yorkshire, said: “Both brands are renowned for the distinctive flavours they create and the relaxed ambience of their bars and coffee shops. We thought this would be a great way for anyone searching out new experiences and venues to discover tastes being produced here and support independent businesses as Leeds continues its recovery.

“It’s part of our ongoing commitment to welcome people back into Leeds and enjoy the leisure, retail and hospitality the city has to offer.”

Lowri Redmond, General Manager of Leeds City Tap, said: “We are so excited to see Leeds city centre buzzing again and have customers return to our bar. We can’t wait for people to pop in for a pint as part of our ongoing partnership with First Bus.”

The 200 Degrees Coffee shop on Bond Street was among the first in the north of England and includes a Barista school where customers can learn the art of coffee-making.

Will Kenny, Commercial Director, said: “We all love the buzz of Leeds city centre, day or night, and this is a great idea from First Bus to welcome everyone back after such a tough 18 months for us all. We look forward to seeing you and hand crafting your perfect coffee.”
