It may not have appeared in the Chancellor’s conference speech, but cuts to tax credits has quickly become one of the main stories to come out of the Conservative party conference.

Despite criticism, both George Osborne and David Cameron have insisted the cuts go ahead. Speaking ahead of his conference speech, Osborne claimed a typical family would be £2,000 better off overall despite the cuts to working tax credits. Meanwhile Cameron, speaking to the BBC’s Andrew Marr, said the cuts are part of a “bigger picture” and rejected calls to rethink the policy.

We’d like to hear from the people directly affected by these cuts. Do you receive child tax credits or working tax credits? How will you be affected? Do Osborne’s claims of families being better off despite the cuts ring true to you?
