How will West Ham line up against Aston Villa? Manuel Lanzini set to start despite 10,000-mile round trip

West Ham playing in the Monday night game gives Manuel Lanzini an extra few days to recover after returning from Argentina duty which will be a welcome boost for the Hammers.

Lanzini had a 10,000-mile round trip to make a 13-minute substitute appearance for Argentina in their 4-0 win against Mexico in Texas on Wednesday.

The midfielder, one of the West Ham’s best performers so far this season, is expected to join back up with his team-mates on Friday and is set to start as part of what could be an unchanged side at Villa Park.

West Ham impressed in their 2-0 win over Norwich before the international break and barring any injuries Manuel Pellegrini could stick with the same team.

Club-record £45million signing Sebastien Haller will be looking to add to his three goals this season and Declan Rice will continue alongside Mark Noble in midfielder after starting for England against Bulgaria and Kosovo.

Predicted lineup

West Ham (4-2-3-1): Fabianski; Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Masuaku; Rice, Noble; Yarmolenko, Lanzini, Anderson; Haller.
