Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane could pair Karim Benzema and Luka Jovic in attack against Villarreal at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Sunday night.
The two strikers are yet to feature in the same starting XI together, but Zidane is weighing up the possibility of both featuring in the La Liga game in Vila-real.
With Eden Hazard still out injured, Zidane could pick a 4-2-3-1 formation with Benzema in a deeper role behind Jovic, flanked by Gareth Bale (possibly on the left) and Luka Modric, who returns from a one-match suspension after he was sent off on the opening weekend of the season against Celta Vigo.
Casemiro and Toni Kroos would play in front of the back four in that system, with no changes in the defence where Marcelo, Dani Carvajal, Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane will all be expected to start.
Thibaut Courtois should be in goal, with Keylor Navas on the bench ahead of a possible move to Paris Saint-Germain on Monday.
Marco Asensio is sidelined with a long-term injury, while James Rodriguez, Isco, Brahim Diaz, Rodrygo and Hazard are all sidelined with more minor problems.
